Baking soda is affordable and an amazing cleaning agent. It is crystalline, but most often you can get it as a powder. Its properties are antibacterial, antiseptic, and anti-inflammatory. In addition, baking soda is a potent medical agent that can fight colds, oral problems, skin issues, and many other health problems. It has the ability to regulate and neutralize the pH level. Baking soda is the multitasking ingredient that can do wonders for your hair, skin, and body.

This is why you need to keep baking soda in your home:

Remove stuck on grease and residue
If you like to reuse your spaghetti jars, you just need to remove the stickiness of the label off. Add some baking soda in a pot with water and let it boil for 30 minutes. This will remove the entire sticky residue off and the label, making it all like brand new. Once they are done cooling off, give the jars a wash and you will have sparkling clean jars to use.

Clean fruits and veggies
Baking soda works amazingly for cleaning your fruits and veggies. All you have to do is give them a little bit of a sprinkle with baking soda and then wash them really well with water. If you have a brush, you can scrub them. Also, you can make it into a spray solution: mix the water and the baking soda and then spray the fruits and wash them.

Lip scrub
Baking soda is amazing in exfoliating. If you want to exfoliate your lips, depot your lip balm and fill it with baking soda and honey. You will have your own organic lip scrub which will work amazingly.

Clean your jewelers
Use an old toothbrush and scrub your silver or diamonds. It will leave them shiny and brand new. Just leave them dry and you will be good to go. There is no need to use anything else than a toothbrush because it is gentle and won’t scratch them.

Homemade surface cleaner
Baking soda and lemon juice make a good cleaning agent. Mix them and you will get a brilliant greasy residue cleaner. Use it to clean your kitchen cabinets, pots, and pans.

Freshen up your drawers
Put some baking soda into a bowl. You can mix it with some spices or essential oils, whatever you choose. Mix it all up and poke some holes into the top of the plastic container so the air can come through. The baking soda will deodorize any drawer you may want to keep fresh and smelling good.

Whiten yellow nails
If your nails end up being yellow from painting them, what you can do is a mixture of baking soda and hydrogen peroxide. Put the mixture onto your nail beds and let it sit for about ten minutes. Then, wash your hands and your nails will be white again.

Natural glass cleaner
If you are looking for a way to replace your glass cleaner, you can use an all natural one with lemon juice, baking soda, and water. Mix these ingredients and fill a spray bottle with the resulted mixture. Spray the surface and wipe.

Freshen stuffed animals
Baking soda is a great way to clean those stuffed animals. All you have to do is put them into a large plastic bag, sprinkle some baking soda and then give it a good shake. Make sure you shake it well outside so to avoid baking soda all over your place. Next, vacuum out all the excess dust and baking soda.

Freshen your dishwasher
If you ever notice your dishwasher has a weird smell, sprinkle a little bit of baking soda into the bottom and let it sit for a while, even overnight and then in the morning let it run.

Teeth whitening
Whiten your smile by mixing your regular toothpaste with baking soda and brush for about a minute. It works for super sensitive teeth too.

Clean toilet
Using baking soda is a quick way to clean the toilet.

Facial exfoliator
Baking soda is the best exfoliator, not only for your face, but for the body too. Use can use only baking soda or mix it with your face wash. Your skin will be nice and soft, clean and bright.
